Bill of sale, 19 Aug. 1811, for 530 acres of land located on Horse Branch in Darlington District, S.C., from Brinkley Gandy, signed with his mark, sold to Alexander Sparks for $900; recorded 19 June 1814. Bill of sale, 25 Sept. 1812, for 140 acres near Horse Branch, Darlington District, S.C., sold by George Brown to Alexander Sparks for sum of $250; recorded 16 June 1814. Bill of sale, 20 July 1824, from Josiah J. Evans to John D. Witherspoon, recorded, for 735 acres on south side of Buckholts Creek, sold for $2100, a tract including land conveyed to Evans by Alexander Sparks.
